Dow Posted Its Biggest Gain Since November 2020, Global Capital Market Shocked

U.S. Stocks

Fundamental Analysis:

The U.S. stock market’s Dow Jones Industrial Average posted its biggest one-day percentage gain since November 2020 on Friday, 25th February 2022, as the market rallied for a second day after a sharp sell-off caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Oil prices fell below $100 a barrel, easing some of the concerns about rising energy costs, while all 11 major sectors of the S&P 500 closed higher. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq also posted weekly gains.

On Friday, Russian missiles struck Kiev and many families took refuge in shelters. A day earlier, Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine by land, sea and air, which is the largest attack on a European country since World War II.

During this interval, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 2.51%, the S&P 500 rose by 2.24% and the Nasdaq gained by 1.64%.
