S&P 500 & Nasdaq 100 Rose For Four Consecutive Days, HK Retail Stocks Weakened


U.S. Stocks 

Fundamental Analysis: 

The S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 both rose for four consecutive days, marking their best single-week performance since November 2020.

Technology stocks led the U.S. stock market gains as traders weighed mixed signals from the Russia-Ukraine talks and options expirations added to market volatility.

Friday (18th March 2022) coincided with the “triple witch gathering” day, stock options, stock index options, index futures expire on the same day, so the market trading volume surged.

Technical Analysis: 

(Dow 30, 1-hour chart) 

Execution Insight: 

The Dow focuses on the 34088-line today. If the Dow runs stably above the 34088-line, it will pay attention to the repression strength of the 34724 and 34990 positions. If the Dow index breaks below the 34088-line, it will pay attention to the support strength of the 33811 and 33584 positions.

Hong Kong Stocks 

Fundamental Analysis: 

The three major indices of Hong Kong stocks opened collectively higher, with the Hang Seng Index (HSI) up by 1.92%, the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index (HSCEI) up by 2.21% and the ang Seng TECH Index (HSTECH) up by 3.27%.

XPeng Inc. (9868.HK) rose more than 8%, after the announcement of XPeng to adjust the price of models on sale, the pre-subsidy price increase ranged from 10,100-20,000 yuan. Sunac China Holdings Limited (1918.HK) rose 7.44%.

Back to Hong Kong Chinese stocks, New Oriental Education & Technology Group Inc. (9901.HK), and Bilibili Inc. (9626.HK) are up more than 10%, Alibaba Group Holding Limited (9988.HK) rose 6.56%, Tencent Holdings Limited (0700.HK), JD.com, Inc. (9618.HK), and Meituan (3690.HK) rose nearly 3%.

Domestic housing stocks and property management stocks rose hand in hand, with gas stocks, home appliance stocks, education stocks, Internet medical stocks, tobacco concept stocks, gambling stocks rose one after another. ENN Energy Holdings Limited (2688.HK) rose more than 11% and performed better.

On the other hand, Hong Kong retail stocks weakened. Gold stocks fell in general, and most Hong Kong local stocks fell. RUSAL (0486.HK) opened by 3.3% lower at HK$4.12. China Evergrande Group (3333.HK), China Evergrande New Energy Vehicle Group Limited (0708.HK) and Evergrande Property Services Group Limited (6666.HK) announced on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange that trading will be temporarily suspended from 9:00 am today.

Technical Analysis: 

(HK50, 1-hour chart) 

Execution Insight: 

HK50 Index focuses on the 22127-line today. If HK50 can run stably below the 22127-line, then pay attention to the support strength of the two positions of 21450 and 20467. If the HK50 runs above the 22127-line, then pay attention to the suppression strength of the two positions of 22785 and 23294.

FTSE China A50 Index 

Technical Analysis: 

(FTSE China A50, 1-hour chart) 

Execution Insight: 

FTSE China A50 pays attention to the 13371-line today. If the A50 runs steadily above the 13371-line, pay attention to the suppression strength of the 13983 and 14669 positions. If the A50 runs below the 13371-line, it will open up further downside. At that time, pay attention to the support of the 12791-line.
