U.S. Stocks Rose, H.K. Large Technology Stocks Rose Collectively


U.S. Stocks 

Fundamental Analysis: 

U.S. stocks rose on Monday, 15th August 2022, boosted by growth giants, as the market extended recent gains and investors were optimistic that the Federal Reserve could achieve a soft landing for the economy.

Apple climbed 0.6%, Microsoft gained 0.5% and Tesla jumped 3.1%. These giant stocks gave the biggest boost to the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq.

Essential consumer stocks and utilities also recorded strong gains.

The S&P 500 has rallied sharply since mid-June, hitting a high of 4301.9 on Monday, a new high since 5th May.

The rise in the stock market has also depressed safe-haven buying demand for gold.

By Monday’s close, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 151.39 points, or 0.45%, to 33,912.44. The S&P 500 was up 16.99 points, or 0.40%, to 4,297.14, and the Nasdaq was up 80.87 points, or 0.62%, to 13,128.05.

Technical Analysis: 

(Dow 30, 1-hour chart) 

Execution Insight: 

The Dow focuses on the 33584-line today. If the Dow runs steadily above the 33584-line, it will pay attention to the suppression strength of the 33811 and 34088 positions. If the Dow runs steadily below the 33584-line, it will pay attention to the support strength of the 33390 and 33233 positions.

Hong Kong Stocks 

Fundamental Analysis: 

The three major indices opened collectively higher, Hang Seng Index (HSI) rose 0.33%, the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index (HSCEI) rose 0.55%, Hang Seng TECH Index (HSTECH) rose 072%.

On the market, large technology stocks rose collectively, NetEase, Inc. (9999.HK), Baidu, Inc. (9888.HK), JD.com, Inc. (9618.HK) rose 2%, while Tencent Holdings Limited (0700.HK), and Alibaba Group Holding Limited (9988.HK) followed.

Domestic housing stocks and property management stocks opened collectively higher. Country Garden Holdings Company Limited (2007.HK) rose 8.6%, Country Garden Services Holdings Company Limited (6098.HK) rose 5.8%, and Longfor Group Holdings Limited (0960.HK) rose nearly 8%.

Meanwhile, semiconductor stocks, Hong Kong retail stocks, oil stocks, Apple concept stocks weakened.

Technical Analysis: 

(HK50, 1-hour chart) 

Execution Insight: 

HK50 focuses on the 20467-line today. If HK50 can run stably above the 20467-line, then pay attention to the suppression strength of 21450 and 22127. If HK50 runs below the 20467-line, then pay attention to the support strength of 19517 and 18606.

FTSE China A50 Index 

Technical Analysis: 

(FTSE China A50, 1-hour chart) 

Execution Insight: 

FTSE China A50 focuses on the 13887-line today. If the A50 runs steadily below the 13887-line, it will pay attention to the support strength of the two positions of 13544 and 13157. If the A50 runs above the 13887-line, it will open up further upward space. At that time, pay attention to the two positions of 14371 and 14695.
