U.S. Stocks Staged Stunning Reversal, HK Stocks Rebounded


U.S. Stocks 

Fundamental Analysis: 

U.S. stocks recovered losses and turned higher after a sharp decline on Thursday, 25th February 2022, as investors flocked to large U.S. technology stocks for safe haven. Plus, a drop in oil prices eased market concerns that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine could lead to an immediate worsening of the inflation situation.

The S&P 500 rose by 1.5% and the Nasdaq 100 gained 3.4%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.3% after the conflict between Ukraine and Russia overshadowed global markets and left the index hovering on the edge of a pullback zone.

Technical Analysis: 

(Dow 30, 1-hour chart) 

Execution Insight: 

The Dow focuses on the support of the 32083-line today. If the Dow runs steadily above the 32083-line, it will pay attention to the suppression of the 33390 and 33811 positions. If the Dow breaks below the 32083-line, it will pay attention to the support of the 31661-line.

Hong Kong Stocks 

Fundamental Analysis: 

U.S. stocks staged a stunning reversal overnight, as Hong Kong stocks rebounded, with the Hang Seng Index (HSI) rising by 0.03%, the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index (HSCEI) rising by 0.54%, and the Hang Seng TECH Index (HSTECH) rising by 1.72%.

On the market, large technology stocks that have been falling for several days generally rebounded. Bilibili Inc. (9626.HK) rose more than 9%, NetEase, Inc. (9999.HK) rose 3.5%, Kuaishou Technology (1024.HK), Baidu, Inc. (9888.HK), Meituan (3690.HK), and Alibaba Group Holding Limited (9988.HK) are up by more than 2%.

Biotechnology stocks rose collectively, while other industries’ stocks including power, sporting goods, mobile games, tobacco, and agriculture generally rose. At the same time, Pharmaron Beijing Co., Ltd. (3759.HK) sees a better performance with a significant opening of nearly 7%.

On the other hand, gas stocks fell sharply in front, with ENN Energy Holdings Limited (2688.HK) down by 9%. Simultaneously, gold stocks partially retraced, aviation stocks, and insurance stocks fell significantly.

Pharmaceutical sector rose, with WuXi Biologics (Cayman) Inc. (2269.HK) rising more than 4% to lead the blue chips. Financial stocks softened, with HSBC Holdings plc (0005.HK) falling by 3.5%, and AIA Group Limited (1299.HK) falling by nearly 2%.

Technical Analysis: 

(HK50, 1-hour chart) 

Execution Insight: 

HK50 Index focuses on the 22785-line today. If HK50 can run stably above the 22785-line, then pay attention to the suppression strength of the two positions of 23194 and 23818. If the HK50 strength breaks below the 22785-line, then pay attention to the support strength of the 21450-line.

FTSE China A50 Index 

Technical Analysis:

Execution Insight: 

FTSE China A50 pays attention to the suppression strength of the 15184-line today. If the A50 runs stably below the 15184-line, it will pay attention to the support strength of the two positions of 14669 and 13983. If the A50 strength breaks through the 15184-line, it will open up further upward trend. At that time, pay attention to the 15666-line of suppression strength.
